Tamer Fahmi receives Prestigious Volunteer Recognition Award

Hamilton (January 22, 2008) - The REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) recently bestowed two members with prominent honours. Tamer Fahmi received the Award of Merit and fellow REALTOR® Stacey Adamson was named Volunteer of the Year.

Tamer Fahmi, Broker of Record at Hearth and Home Realty Inc., has been actively selling real estate since 1976. He has given his time freely for the benefit of organized real estate, including serving as President of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington in 1995 and President of the Ontario Real Estate Association in 2005.

Tamer continuously stays involved on volunteer committees at the regional, provincial and local levels. In addition, Tamer is an active member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the Burlington Downtown Business Association.

"Being a volunteer helps keep a community vibrant," said Fahmi. "It's an honour to receive an award for activities that I truly enjoy doing."

The Award of Merit is presented to a member who has shown commitment to the association and the real estate profession through years of dedicated volunteerism. Nominees must have served on RAHB committee(s) for a period of no less than three years. The award may or may not be awarded annually.

Adamson, a salesperson with Homelife Macro Realty Realty Inc., was recognized for her role as the chair of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington's charity auction task force. The task force hosts the association's premier event of the year - historically raising over $50,000 in one evening for local underprivileged children.

During her time as chair, she illustrated devotion, and acted as an inspiration to the other task force members. One member stated that, "Stacey holds herself to a degree of excellence, setting the standard for everyone else - always leading by example".

The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a member who has gone above and beyond in their dedication and service

to an association committee during the current year. This award may or may not be awarded annually.

Established in 1921, the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) represents more than 2,400 real estate brokers and salespersons from Hamilton, Burlington and surrounding areas. Members of the association may use the REALTOR® trademark, which identifies them as real estate professionals who subscribe to a strict code of ethics.
