Next Saturday: December 19, the Olympic Torch route travels through Burlington
ROUTE NOTES:
4:16 p.m.
Olympic Torch Relay route travels west on Fairview Street, then makes its way south on Brant Street.
5:08 p.m.
Community Stop at Burlington City Hall: 426 Brant Street.
The Torch relay will then travel south on Brant, west along Lakeshore, and continue west along North Shore Blvd. E.
Olympic Torch Relay CELEBRATION AT CITY HALL:
4:00 to 4:15 p.m. Opening performance by Student Theatre
4:15 to 4:40 p.m. Welcome and introduction of Burlington Olympians and world level sports figures
4:40 to 4:55 p.m. Performance by Charissa Pavlou - 2009 CNE Talent Competition Grand Champion
4:55 to 5:08 p.m. Musical performance by Burlington Teen Tour Band
5:08 p.m. Arrival of Olympic Torch at City Hall for Community Stop
ROAD CLOSURES
All roads on Relay route will have rolling 15-minute closures to allow safe passage.
Brant Street will be closed from Caroline Street to Elgin Street from 4 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. for the Community Stop at City Hall. Local access to Brant Street stores will be maintained during closure.
Regarding Downtown Municipal Parking:
No parking at bagged meters. Please obey all posted parking regulations.
